Don’t miss this unique opportunity to witness the beauty and power of lyrical art. The plot tells the story of a young geisha who marries Benjamin Pinkerton, a lieutenant in the United States Navy. Pinkerton eventually returns to his country and abandons her in Japan for three years. Upon his return, he arrives with his “American wife” and learns of the child he had with Butterfly. He demands to take the child to the United States. Butterfly agrees to give him up and then takes her own life.
